Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you and your families continue to be safe and well in the current circumstances and that you are looking forward to the Christmas break.
We last wrote to you in September following Mr. Hooley’s appointment as our new permanent headteacher. As a Governing Board we believe it is important to continue to communicate with you regularly. We would very much have preferred to have had face to face contact with you, as parents and members of the community, but you will appreciate that currently this is not possible.
Firstly, we are sure you will want to join us in thanking Mrs. Smith and all the staff for their efforts this term in keeping our School operating as normally as possible, and coping with whatever has been thrown at them, with information sometimes coming to them at extremely short notice. There have been some necessary changes to daily routines, but having all our pupils back at School is great to see. Thank you to the staff for their monumental efforts and to you as parents for working with us to achieve this.
There are also some changes to the Governing Body which we wish to make you aware of:
John Evans has resigned as our Local Authority governor. He has decided to pursue other interests and we wish him well with this. John has been a great support to Mrs Smith in finishing the extension in the EYFS and in many other areas. We are working the Local Authority to identify a suitable governor who will complement our existing skill set.
Miss Gordon will cease to be our staff governor. Thank you for all your input Miss Gordon and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours! Mr. Hooley will be organising a staff governor election in the new year.
Lucy Temple will join the Board as our second parent governor in January 2021. Welcome Lucy!
Finally, we hope everyone has a great Christmas and we wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.
Yours sincerely,
Lynda M Joyce
